5 plants worth knowing

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan packs strikingly different landscapes into a small area: the semi-deserts of the Kura-Araxes Lowland and the arid Absheron Peninsula, beech and oak forests on the slopes of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, and alpine meadows beneath the peaks. In the south-east, in the Talysh Mountains, humid Hyrcanian forests have survived – a pre-Ice Age relic now on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The climate ranges from dry subtropical to high mountain.
