5 plants worth knowing
Andorra
Andorra is an entirely mountainous country in the eastern Pyrenees – even its lowest point lies at about 840 m above sea level, and its peaks rise above 2,900 m. The valleys are clothed in Scots pine and fir forests, higher up stretch extensive forests of Pinus uncinata, and above them lie mountain pastures and alpine grasslands that burst into flower in summer. In the past, tobacco and cereals were grown on terraces in the narrow valleys; today tourism dominates, but the pastoral landscape is still protected, notably in the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
